Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), formerly known as the University of Indore, stands as a prominent educational institution in Central India, celebrating its 50th year of dedicated service and academic excellence. DAVV holds the distinction of being the sole State University in Madhya Pradesh to have received an "A" grade accreditation from NAAC. Its inception traces back to 1964 when it was established through an Act of the Madhya Pradesh Legislature.
DAVV functions as an affiliating State University, encompassing seven tribal-dominated districts within the Indore division. Its mission is to address the educational needs of both ends of the spectrum: on one side, it serves the highly industrialized district of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, while on the other, it reaches out to the tribal and economically disadvantaged rural areas in the state.
